Petone

Petone occupies the flat land around the mouth of the Hutt River as it enters Wellington’s enormous harbour basin. Being flat and a bit out of Wellington it’s been taken over by factories and warehouses, but like most places in New Zealand the town centre has some pleasant buildings from earlier days. Roughly in reverse date order here are all those that I could find – many from the 1920s and 30s, and with a few older survivors.
