Hungarian Memorial

I don’t quite understand why, but the people of Hungary have chosen to give a particularly nice little set of gates, carvings and paintings to ‘the Hungarian community in New Zealand’. There are certainly a few people here from Hungarian descent, but they don’t seem to be a huge part of New Zealand life. Still… here are a very pretty little carved gate, a pole with a wonderful Stella Octangula on the top, and – a particularly New Zealand oddity – a beautifully painted electricity supply unit.
