The old Defence House in Wellington is an essentially Art Deco building, brimming with confidence and revelling in the sunshine, with beautiful clean lines and sweeping curves – though without the surface decoration of some of its contemporaries. The building had become very run-down by 2004 but since then it’s been restored and is now a much-loved part of the Wellington scene.
