Cape Farewell

New Zealand’s lighthouses are 20th century affairs so they’re not really lighthouses so much as just lights. But there’s still a strong affection for them. The light at Cape Farewell looks a bit like R2D2 or a Dalek, with it’s little arms holding out a solar panel. As usual the wind completely distorts the trees and, despite the sun, makes things bitterly cold – so I didn’t stay long.
