Buller Gorge is yet another of NZ’s beautiful river gorges – this time with a terrifying wire cable bridge to cross. You can come back by hanging off a wire, but that seemed even more scary. You can also see a lot of the old mining history (minerals and gold) of the area… and there are the usual speedboat rides at the bottom. All in all, well worth making a 200km detour for if you’re on your way from Motueka to Blenheim – and the Commercial Cafe in Murchison is a great stop for lunch.
